Kerr Michael Graham, 51, of Conestoga, struck two individuals with an aluminum baseball bat around the 3300 block of Main Street, Conestoga Township, on January 15, according to a release by Pennsylvania state police.
When state police at Lancaster barracks met with the victims they learned they were relatives of Graham's and he had "struck the one victim three times in the head with the aluminum bat, causing visible injuries," and had "struck the other victim who tried to intervene in the arm with the aluminum bat," the police state in the release.
Graham has a lengthy criminal record with charges of burglary, robbery, theft, drug use/possession, driving without a license, fleeing, witness intimidation, resisting arrest, escape, false identification to police, trespassing, harassment, terroristic threats, assault— starting in 1991— some of these charges lead to months adding up to about 7 years behind bars and 12 years of probation, court records show.
Since he was "known to be violent with law enforcement," the responding troopers "prepared the applicable charges, and an arrest warrant was issued."
Police received a tip on Tuesday at 8:45 p.m. that Graham had been seen in the 3000 block of Main Street in Conestoga Township but when the police arrived he fled into a nearby wooded area.
State police had members of the Manheim Township police tracking him with dogs as they searched the area with a helicopter.
He was soon found and taken into custody, according to the release.
He was charged with two felons for aggravated assault, three misdemeanors for terroristic threats, simple assault, and harassment, as well as summary offenses of harassment, according to his latest court docket.
He has been held on $100,000 in bail at the Lancaster County Prison and his preliminary hearing has been set before Magisterial District Judge David L. Ashworth on Jan. 19 at 9:45 a.m., court records show.
